Dear Members and Friends:
Thank you, for taking the time to visit our site. I hope you enjoy learning more about the United States Air Force Academy Way of Life (WOL) Alumni Group. WOL is an Affinity Group of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Association of Graduates (AOG). Please allow us the chance to earn your continued support as a Full, Associate or Corporate member.
Our core objectives include, but are not limited to:
• Increasing the pool of qualified diverse/minority USAFA candidates
• Maximizing retention of USAFA cadets
• Enhancing the personal and professional development of USAFA graduates and
• Providing leadership and service to local communities and to our nation
WOL's primary focus is to increase the pool of qualified young people whose scholastic aptitude, character and leadership make them highly competitive for admission to USAFA and our nation's finest colleges and universities. WOL places special emphasis on diversity and appointments to the United States Air Force Academy. WOL also supports members while on active duty and during transition to the private or public sectors. Our hope is that our combined experiences and professional network leads to a wealth of valuable advice and counsel.
Please join me and put actions behind our words. We mentor cadets via face-to-face sessions during Spring and Fall "Pathfinder Seminars." Another immensely popular event is the WOL Falcon Football Tailgate. We target an early Falcon home football game. WOL also has two other regular events: 1) the Black History Month commemorative celebration and 2) the “Become a Pilot” spring event. Both events are at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near the Washington Dulles International Airport. Finally, WOL leads the All Service Academy “Super Reunion (SR).“ SR is an amazing experience! The Inaugural Super Reunion in 2010 brought together African-American graduates from each of our nation’s five service academies to the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. SR II, in the summer of 2012, moved to a magical destination - Walt Disney World. SR II turned out to be an even bigger and better event than the inaugural reunion. Plans are in the works for a 2016 "SR III.” Please stay tuned.
WOL is loaded with talent and potential, but we need your support and participation to continue the vision! We need fresh ideas and of course, volunteers. Our work is serious and incredibly rewarding. Join us and make a difference. Thank you!
